Stagecoach Receives Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation Award

The Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation has announced a funding award made to Stagecoach Transportation Services, Inc., of Randolph, VT, that will assist with the purchase of a new, twenty-four passenger bus for the 89er Commuter Route. The award, in the amount of $3,800, will help Stagecoach meet the local match requirement of a capital grant it has received through the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

Upon learning of the award, Stagecoach Manager David Palmer remarked that, "With an ever-increasing demand for public transportation services, this award from the Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation is a great boost in helping Stagecoach keep new, reliable vehicles in service." Stagecoach provides public transportation services across northern Windsor and Orange Counties of Vermont, including commuter routes that operate along the I-91 and I-89 corridors down to the White River Jct., Lebanon, and Hanover area. According to Palmer, the new vehicle will be placed into service on the I-89 route by this fall.

The Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation offers grants to 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organizations to help them pursue their missions and to initiate projects that improve life within the bank’s service area.
