Stagecoach Joins Way to Go! Commuter Challenge
As a way to encourage healthier, environmentally positive, and less expensive alternatives to driving alone, Stagecoach is joining this year’s statewide Way to Go! Commuter Challenge, which takes place between May 17th and 21st. Events are scheduled around Vermont in looking to increase last year’s participation of over 3,500 people, who realized a reduction of over 235,000 commuting miles. This one week prevented over 200,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere and resulted in savings of $33,000 on travel costs!
To encourage participation in the central Vermont area, Stagecoach is offering two things on its River Route, 89er, and 89er North commuter routes during this year’s event:
- Free commute day on Friday, May 21st – hop the bus, the ride is on us!
- During the week, passengers may enter their name in a lucky prize drawing that will award a free, 10 ride pass, to one lucky passenger on each of the three commuter routes. Ask your Driver for an enrollment slip – fill one out each time you ride during the week.
